For many years Councillor Eddie Freeman (Weoley) has been working with his colleagues in Bartley Green to convince Birmingham City Council that safety improvements needed to be made at the junction of Shenley Lane, Gregory Avenue and Long Nuke Road.
The junction had been labelled as a black spot and tragically there have been fatalities in the area so the Conservative Councillors together with local residents saw the installation of traffic lights as a great result. Unfortunately because of the wet weather there has been a delay in their turn-on but Eddie Freeman has been told they should be working very shortly.
Local residents, Councillors John and Bruce Lines, Vivienne Barton and Eddie Freeman have proved that working together on projects does produce results. Sometimes it takes a little longer that anyone would wish but the installation of these traffic lights has proved it's worth persevering.
Eddie Freeman is also delighted to report that road improvements have also been carried out on the Shenley Field Road, Middle Park Road and Castle Road junctions.
