Aston Ward Conservative Candidate Mr Jahid Choudhury organised a Human Rights meeting at the Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham. Jahid, who has a special interest in Human Rights, invited leading representatives from ten organisations who each had an opportunity to speak.
Conservative Party members, leaders and activists joined the meeting at the Council House. Issues discussed included Syria, Bangladesh, Kashmir, Egypt and Somalia.
Jahid said "it is very important that we as Conservatives continue to listen to representatives from the many troubled countries in the World and I was very encouraged by the interest shown by Party members".
The day was followed by an evening event at the Novotel Hotel in Birmingham attended by Councillor Robert Alden, Leader of the Conservative Group on Birmingham City Council and several of his Council colleagues.
