Community Chest Funds - Investing in your area

Birmingham Local Conservatives called on the Council to support our motion to reintroduce Community Chest Funds at a meeting of the full council on the 11th of October 2022. Before it was scrapped by the Labour Administration, Community Chest provided direct funding for local areas to spend on the things that mattered most to communities, fixing issues or kickstarting initiatives that benefit those living there. We believe that it is local communities, and not the corporate centre, who best understand what is needed in their own neighbourhood. Whilst the Labour Cabinet have stopped short of fully committing to our request to bring this funding back, they have agreed to consider it further, alongside additional specific funding for local parks. This could see up to £150k in funding provided annually for local areas to decide how best to spend.

If there are improvements in your area that need funding, then Community Chest Funds would enable local people like you to work with councillors to achieve those improvements, no matter what the issue! We want to now keep the pressure on the Council to see this funding finally restored. Sign below to empower local people and ward councillors to directly fund projects in your area.
