Earlier this year we held an open primary to allow members of the public to take part in the selection process for the Conservative Candidate for the Police and Crime Commissioner elections in November. Former head of children’s social services, Matt Bennett won the public vote and will be the Conservative nomination.
Matt has pledged to:
- Introduce Zero Tolerance Policing of crime and antisocial behaviour
- Ensure the Police spend More Time on the Streets and at the Times and Places where Crime is Highest
- Keep Local Police Stations and front desks OPEN!
- Introduce a Contract with the Public, setting out what residents can expect from the police when a crime is reported
- Meet Regularly with the public across the whole West Midlands by holding at least one public meeting every fortnight
